Job Responsibilities

  • Engaged in clearing, racking, plating, and polishing of metallic objects
  • Selects equipment, such as hooks, tumbler baskets, plating battel tanks and racks according to quantity, size, and type of objects to be plated
  • Verifies types of plating metals, solutions, length of immersion period, and amount of electrical current flowing through solutions, following plating specifications
  • Fills tumbler baskets with parts to be plated on a holding fixture, and lowers materials into plating tank.
  • Performs calculations to determine duration of parts to remain in baths
  • Removes parts when process is completed
  • Gauges parts frequently with micrometers to see that specified tolerances are maintained
  • Immerses materials in leaching or cleaning solution preparatory to plating
  • Protecting themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies
  • Participating in safety program activities
  • Identifying hazards in the workplace and reporting them to their supervisors
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED or

Experience: 1 to 3 months experience


Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

Employee will be frequently required to walk and stand. May frequently lift up to and/or move 10 lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must use hands to handle, feel, and reach.
