Job Summary

Operates compression and injection molding machines which mold thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics into products for world class electronic connector use.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating and monitoring a transfer injection molding machine or 2 transfer molding machines
  • Handles raw material by adding and removing machine products to and from machine bin
  • Cleans and maintains molding machines on a daily basis ensuring equipment remains in good working condition
  • Cleans and deflashes fabricated molds
  • Constant observation and monitoring of machines and products are required to provide quality products ensuring conformance of customer requirements
  • Reworking or sorting of any red tags within departmental goal guidelines
  • Ensure quality of produced product
  • Execute setup of machines for production
  • Acquire the skill and tasking of changing machin molds
  • Load and unload machine hoppers
  • Perform machine startup and shutdown
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and operating instractions, as well as utilize measuring tools on a daily basis
  • Complete and maintain daily production output records and other paperwork associated with daily production
  • Protecting themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies
  • Participating in safety program activities
  • Identifying hazards in the workplace and reporting them to their supervisors
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED or
Experience: 1 to 3 months experience

Other: An equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Must have the ability to see small parts with ease as the assembly process heavily revolves around small components.
  • Reading, writing, and counting skills are required to understand paperwork and procedures, drawings, and the assembly process.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with regards to questions, comment, and concerns when related to the assembly process.
  • The ability to follow instructions and use a computer to pull procedures and drawings is required.
  • Pre-requisite knowledge of inspection tools is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Employee is required to sit regularly while performing operations with minor repetitive motion.
  • Operations require the use of the employee's hands to finger, handle, and feel parts during the assembly process.
  • Position requires the ability to reach and pull with hands and arms; Occasionally required to stand, walk, and traverse the department.
  • On occasion, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
